Total gutter run drives most of the cost. Longer ranches and multi-wing homes carry more linear feet than tall, narrow colonials.
Aluminum is the value tier; copper is premium and built to outlast the home. Steel and zinc are special-order options.
6" gutters move ~40% more water than 5" — recommended for steep roofs, large drainage areas, or homes that have flooded basements.
More downspouts spread the load and reduce overflow risk, but each adds cost. We size by drainage area, not by aesthetic preference.
Worth it for wooded lots; less so for open lots without big trees. Several products available — quality matters.
Two-story or three-story access adds labor; wrapping fascia in aluminum capping at the same time is a common add-on.
