About DaVinci Bellaforte Slate
DaVinci Bellaforte Slate tiles are engineered from a proprietary polymer resin blend that's virtually indistinguishable from quarried slate. Each tile is individually mold-cast with natural thickness variation and surface texture. At roughly 75% lighter than natural slate, Bellaforte installs on standard roof framing without the structural reinforcement that real slate demands.
The Class 4 impact rating (the highest available) is particularly relevant for Northern Virginia, where hail events are increasingly common. Unlike natural slate, which can crack and spall from freeze-thaw cycles, Bellaforte's polymer composition is unaffected by moisture absorption. The result is a slate-look roof that lasts 40-50 years with essentially zero maintenance.
